學(xué)習(xí)單詞只是“背單詞”嗎？為什么課上我會(huì)給每個(gè)重點(diǎn)詞匯大量豐富場(chǎng)景的例句，并在容易在中文上混淆的詞匯作詳細(xì)的對(duì)比。

學(xué)習(xí)單詞的方法其實(shí)是學(xué)句子，但很多人沒意識(shí)。

字典里的解釋：an opinion that someone gives you about what to do in a particular situation.

重點(diǎn)詞：what to do

Advice is a term which is used in the sense to counsel. One can give advice for the problem or can simply give a solution. Advice, seems to be an opinion with command or control and even manipulation.

Advice是指忠告的意思?？梢允菃栴}提出建議，也可以給出解決方案。advice有時(shí)是一種命令或控制甚至給人有操縱感的意見。

The word advice is used in the sense of ‘counsel’ as in the sentences given below.

advice這個(gè)詞的關(guān)鍵是“給出忠告”（希望對(duì)方能follow聽從的）如下面的句子所示。

他給他兄弟提了一個(gè)忠告。

He gave a piece of advice to his brother.

(You get the idea that he counseled his brother.他給他弟弟出主意了)

老師給了他一條忠告。

He received a piece of advice from his teacher.

我不明白為什么越來(lái)越多的人不聽從這個(gè)建議。

I don't understand why more and more people don't follow this advice.

Since advice is counsel it has more value. It is presented to you by someone who has experience. You can certainly choose not to follow an advice given to you. However, generally advice is given to be followed.

既然advice 是忠告，它是有價(jià)值的。它是由有經(jīng)驗(yàn)的人呈現(xiàn)給你的。你當(dāng)然可以選擇不遵循別人給你的建議。但是，一般advice給出就是希望follow遵循的。

suggestion 僅是提出一個(gè)供人參考的想法。

字典里的解釋： 

an idea or plan put forward for consideration

A suggestion on the other hand ，is used in the sense of giving an idea. 

Suggestion, seems to be used as a plan or an idea without any command or control and manipulation. It is used to describe any suggestion in general.

suggestion只是用來(lái)表示給出一個(gè)想法的，是一種沒有任何命令、控制和操縱的想法。一般用來(lái)描述任何概念上提出的想法。

The word suggestion is used in the sense of ‘giving an idea’ as in the sentences given below.

關(guān)鍵點(diǎn)：給出一個(gè)個(gè)人的想法

他提出可以這樣做。（說(shuō)出他自己的想法)

He suggested that it could be done in this way.

她提出了一個(gè)使俱樂部易于運(yùn)作的建議。(她給了一個(gè)想法）

She gave a suggestion for the easy functioning of the club.

在這種情況下，我需要你的意見（想法）。

I need your suggestion in this case.

The word suggestion has its verb form in the word ‘suggest.’

單詞“suggestion”的動(dòng)詞形式“suggest” 也是一樣的含義。

Since a suggestion is just an idea someone has about something, no one expects you to follow every suggestion that comes your way. Maybe you take time and consider and follow it only if it fits you too.

因?yàn)閟uggestion只是某人對(duì)某事的一個(gè)想法，沒有人希望你遵循這個(gè)所謂的建議。也許只有當(dāng)它也適合你的時(shí)候，你才會(huì)考慮并遵循它。

以下句子再體會(huì)一下suggest表達(dá)的含義，不可以與advice替換的語(yǔ)境。

她的老板對(duì)這個(gè)建議不太感興趣。

The suggestion didn't go down very well with her boss. 

我可以提個(gè)想法嗎？

基于advice的“忠告”含義, 和suggestion的“提出想法”，我們可以更好地記憶它們的固定搭配。

“忠告”是個(gè)抽象概念，因此advice不可數(shù)， 而suggestion 表示所提的建議或具體想法是可數(shù)的。

follow the advice

come up with a suggestion 提出建議

give sb. a suggestion 給某人一個(gè)意見

make a suggestion 提出建議

offer a suggestion 

put forward a suggestion

reject the suggestion 反對(duì)這個(gè)建議

“建議”這一簡(jiǎn)單翻譯有誤導(dǎo)，所以，背單詞沒用，只見過一兩次句子也沒用，需要大量的體會(huì)，感知差異和詞匯的真實(shí)用法。
